Babba
By Babba's Friends

A few founding members of the Strange Behavior and General Topic message boards have been enjoying the antics of an amazing cat named Babba, and his human(?) Lou, for a long time. Since the guys are too modest to toot their own horn, their friends have decided to write why they love Babba so much. In addition to the above Message Boards, Babba has also made numerous friends on the Meowchat Boards.

Rose speaks first:

What makes Babba so special? His love for us gals on the boards for one thing! I once had the pleasure of going on a cyber-date with him. The gentlecat he was....he picked me up in a tank and took me to NYC for a feast to die for! We had great NYC hotdogs! It wasn't his fault he double-parked the tank and we ended up in jail. It was I who wanted the hotdog!

How special a kitty to just park and buy me that dog! That night spent in jail wasn't so great for me.......but Babba surely grabbed the guards' attention and he was treated like a king! What does that tell ya about Babba? He is one special dude who (rumor has it!) saved his human's life at one time!

Next, Ruby speaks:

I love Babba because not only is he one cool looking cat, but also because he's the imaginary father of Katrina who looks so much like him. He's even owned up to the paternity but then reneged on it when Samantha demanded Kitty support from him. Samantha even threatened to take him on the Sally Show for a DNA test. He finally gave in and said that he'd be bringing the money to Sammi and Katrina in a hot air balloon and that his bags were packed and he was ready to go. Sammi and Katrina were were so excited making up little kitty shopping lists, then Babba reneged on the kitty support too. Katrina just loves her imaginary papa, whether or not he pays his kitty support. He has a warm spot in the hearts of all of us. And how could I help but love Lou, his imaginary human who tries to outdo me on animated .gifs and photo editing?

Take it Tracy:

Why do I love Babba? Well, he lives in my home state of Washington, and is always traveling with his human, and sends me lots of pictures that make me happy and homesick all at the same time. Babba hasn't messed around with any of my cats, but he's won my heart. He's so smart, and loves to travel, and stays right around Lou's RV - not typical, and not just any cat. I wonder if he is part d*g? He also loves all us gals on the boards, and once he came to Council Bluffs with Lou and a pig, and waited and waited at City Hall for us to come and roast porky. We didn't want to roast porky, though. Felt too much like roasting a pal. So we didn't, and Lou had to leave and take Babba home, although I believe he left porky here. I wonder how porky is getting along these days?

Anyway, Babba is one unusual cat, unique, and fun. That's why I love him.

Take it, Heidi:

Why do we (Corkie, Minnie, Schatzi and I) love Babba? Well, let me see. He is a true friend to Lou. He is faithful, handsome, his own boss, yet a loving companion. He has so many adventures that I feel Lou should write a book about him. He is Corkie and Minnie's hero, as they can only dream of the wonderful adventures he and Lou take, and Schatzi says he is certain Babba would let him sniff him without whomping him like Minnie does. As for me, I just love looking at him and I wish "that he would walk my way!"

And his friend Deb speaks:

Abby, Casper and I love Dr. Babba cause he offered to come to Texas in his hot air balloon to take care of us when we were sick. We also love the wonderful pictures of Babba on his many adventures. Babba and his imaginary human, Lou, are so kind to all of us on the board and they are always sending us such wonderful GIFs.

To you Elizabeth!

Babba keeps me coming back to the boards day after day, never knowing what is going to happen next, and never caring if it's real or imaginary because either way a good time is going to had by all! We've seen Babba camping, tree climbing, and making friends all over his home state, a regular kitty diplomat making the rounds, meeting the people and a few other animals too. There is rumored to be someone named Lou with him, but with all the unusual and amazing things Babba has done in real time and in our fantasy, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find it really was that handsome cat tapping on the keyboard!

Babba's Human, Lou, tells us the real story:

Babba was born on April 1, 1998 and was the last kitten to find a home. People didn't like Babba because he had big feet and was skinny with long legs. I got him when he was 6 weeks old. The people where desperate to find him a home and ask me to take him.

His favorite foods are Meow Mix, Friskies and for breakfast and dinner he loves Fancy Feast. For dessert his favorite is Pounces Purr-Fections. He also loves banana milkshakes, cantaloupe, fresh fish, and his favorite, fresh shrimp. He weighs a little over 15 pounds and is a very strong and healthy cat.

His hobbies are camping, fishing and he loves Scrabble. He lies on the board when we're playing. Camping is his best hobby because he gets to have a little freedom to run in the grass and climb trees. He never leaves the campsite and is usually by my side at all times. I think he watches me so I don't get lost. He can be trusted completely and comes when I call him. When he is at home I can leave the doors open and he won't go outside. He is strictly an indoor cat who doesn't want to go outside.

He has many toys but his favorite is a little white mouse that he throws around and he and I play fetch with. He scatters the rest of the toys all over the house and I have to pick them up and put them back in his toy box. He loves to play with me and I love to play with him.

Babba is one of the most intelligent animals I ever seen and he and I can communicate with each other very well. When it's dinner time and it's time for his Fancy Feast he comes over and sits in front of me and gives me a couple meows and goes over to his plate. He has Meow mix or Friskies in his other plate to eat at all times. When he wants me up in the morning he has several ways of doing this. First he comes over and gives me a couple gentle meows and if that doesn't work he gets on the dresser and jumps on me and if I still don't get up he grabs my ankles with his paws and gives my big toe a big bite. That really gets me up. There are many other ways that his intelligence shows.

Babba also loves to be loved and has a lot of love to give in return. I thank God for Babba because he came to me at a very difficult time in my life. I consider Babba a friend instead of a pet because he gives me so much love and companionship. There is a strong love that he and I share with each other. I hope there is a Lou & Babba for a long time.
