Kasha the Maine Coon Cat
By Kasia13

HRH Katryzna Wielka of Bonnie View is a 4-year-old, 13-1/2 lb. Maine Coon. Her name, translated from Polish, is "Catherine the Great," one of the Czarinas of Russia. She is truly a gentle giant, and our friends and family from all over the country and the world love her. The kids come blasting in the house (our nieces and nephews) and they run to her, pick her up, and play. She is very calm with the kids, even when one has the head and another the back end, without a scratch, meow or hiss. My Dad calls her a big beanie baby, the way the kids carry her around.

She has me trained, and needs an audience when making "royal poopies." She will sit in front of the bathroom door, where her kitty box is and cry "MA!" until I come. My husband just laughs.

Now that I am home following knee surgery she is my constant companion when I am doing my physical therapy. She will put her paw on my leg, when trying to do leg lifts, and lay next to me when doing the other floor exercises. Normally, we both wake up around 5:30 on a workday, and she gets fed even before I get the coffee ready. On the weekends, however, one likes to sleep in, bur Kasha has different ideas. She jumps up to the top of my highboy and jumps on the bed. The seismic shock waves can probably felt at the earthquake center. Then, she body walks me, and sits on my head until I get up.
