Sammy is a 5-year-old, 62-pound raccoon who believes all animals are the same species. Cats, dogs, ferrets, bunnies, they're all his real family. He even dates a cat. Sammy's favorite foods are Ritz crackers (don't even try and slip the cheap ones by him, they have to be Ritz), marshmallows and raw eggs. He loves chomping on ice cubes, especially when I take a hot bath.
At night Sammy curls up in bed with us, the dogs and the cats. Even having a king size bed, this can be a riot fitting every one in comfortably. When we have to be away from home he will slip between the feather mattress and the real one to sleep until we come home.
Oh, Raccoons are known as "whees" because when they are little they cry out soft little whee awhee sounds.
