How to Vote

You can see all the entries in the Halloween Contest 2002 Photo Gallery.

VOTING IS NOW CONCLUDED. You must include the title of the photo you are voting for. If an entry does not have a title, you must include the URL of the photo. If we cannot determine what photo you are voting for, your vote may not be counted. If that happens, we will make an effort to contact you for clarification, but we don't guarantee that we'll be able to count your vote. You may vote for one photo in each category. You do not have to vote for a photo in each category. Each email address will be allowed to vote only once. Voting will commence at 12:01 AM Eastern Time on October 21, 2002 and will end at 11:59 PM on October 31, 2002. The time the vote will be counted as received will be considered the time that appears on the email, except when a vote is received more than 24 hours after the official close of voting, regardless of the time on the email or when it was sent.

How to Enter

ENTRIES ARE NOW OVER. In order to upload to the gallery, you must be a registered user of PetHobbyist.com. Registration is free and takes only a moment: Register here. You do not need to be registered to vote.

Categories are Fall Colors and Scenes and Halloween. The Fall category is images showing fall foliage or scenery, photos using fall colors, photos of cats who are black, orange, gold, etc., photos of cats with pumpkins, scarecrows, fall leaves, or other autumn scenes. The Halloween category is for images showing cats with jack-o-lanterns or other Halloween-related objects or settings, black cats, photos in black and orange colors, "scary" looking cats, and cats in costumes.

Manipulated photos, original artwork, and composition photos are allowed, as long as the entrant is the artist/photographer.

Prizes

First and second place winners in each category plus the overall top vote-getter will be featured in CatHobbyist.com's "Gallery of Winners." First place winners will have an entire page devoted to their winning photo, with information on their cat(s) and their feline-related interests. Second place winners will be featured in the winners' gallery. In addition to fame, the overall top vote-getter will also receive a Meow Bowl or Meow Dish in the available color of their choice from wetnoz.com!

Official Rules

This contest starts on October 7, 2002 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern, and ends on October 31, 2002 at 11:59 PM Eastern. Voting will begin on October 21, 2002, at 12:01 AM Eastern, and end at 11:59 PM Eastern on October 31, 2002. Any votes received outside that period will be returned or discarded. While entries may be made during the entire time of the contest, those entering after voting has started must accept that their entry will be disadvantaged by the shorter voting time.

There is no limit to the number of entries an individual may make, or prizes an individual may win, but we will only tally the first vote in each category received from each email address.In the event of a tie for first or second place within a category, multiple prizes will be awarded. Only one Grand Prize will be awarded. In the event of a tie for overall top vote-getter, PetHobbyist.com Director of Community Services Christie Keith ("the judge") will cast the tie-breaking vote.

We will announce the winners at CatHobbyist.com during the week of November 4, 2002. Winners will be notified by email at the address associated with the username used to upload their winning entry. Members can confirm or update their email address in the User Profile Area.We will make two attempts to notify each winner by email. If after two attempts we are unable to send email to that address, or if you do not respond to our email by Midnight Eastern time on November 11, 2002, we will award the prize to the next-highest vote getter, or withdraw it, at the sole discretion of the judge.

This contest is open to all. No purchase or registration is required. If the Grand Prize winner is under the age of fourteen (14), written permission must be obtained from your parent or guardian before you give us your shipping address to receive your prize.

Employees or volunteers of OnlineHobbyist.com, Inc. or its companies, or their immediate families, are not eligible to compete for prizes, although they may enter in the "Exhibition Only" categories. These entries will not be judged and no prizes will be awarded.

OnlineHobbyist.com, Inc., is not responsible for late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or unintelligible entries; telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties; etc. Illegible, mutilated, unintelligible, or incomplete entries or votes will be disqualified. We will attempt to notify you if your entry or vote was not accepted due to technical, legibility, or clarity problems, but this may not be possible in all cases.

No cash or prize substitution is allowed except at the discretion of the sponsor. If a prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of the sponsor, a substitute prize of equal or greater retail value will be awarded.

By entering, participants agree to be bound by the complete Official Rules and the decisions of the judge which shall be final.

By entering a photograph in this contest, you agree that you have read the contest rules, and that you are the copyright holder/author/photographer of the submitted work, and agree that while you retain ownership of this work, you give limited permission to OnlineHobbyist.com to use this image on its screens and in its promotions.

All federal, state and local laws apply. Taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of each winner.
